The ASPCA says that between 6 and 8 million abandoned animals enter shelters every year and millions more are never found. Our pooch pal Charlie is one of them. He was abandoned on the side of the road, and no one knows how long he was on the streets alone. He was found dirty with lots of overgrown hair, painful burns and abrasions all over his body. The bad news is that Charlie’s shelter was a high kill one, and high kill shelters only keep animals for a short time. That means if Charlie wasn’t adopted quickly, he might not have survived.
