Meet 13-year Old Jackie Evancho, and her cover of “Somewhere” by Barbara Streisand. Although she didn’t actually perform this song with Babs, the producers of the show were able to merge the two of them together, to create an absolutely flawless performance.

“Somewhere” is a song from the 1957 Broadway musical West Side Story. Music composed by Leonard Bernstein with lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. On October 18, 1961, a film adaptation of the musical was released. It received praise from critics and the public, and became the second highest grossing film of the year in the United States. The film won ten Academy Awards in its eleven nominated categories, including Best Picture, as well as a special award for Robbins. The film holds the distinction of being the musical film with the most Academy Award wins (10 wins), including Best Picture. The soundtrack album made more money than any other album before it.
