Did you know? Although the EPA estimates that 75 percent of solid waste is recyclable, only about 30 percent is actually recycled. That’s what makes this video so awesome.

In a crowded mall, an experiment was conducted: if you leave a plastic bottle on the floor, how many people will actually pick it up and place it in the recycling bin — right in front of the bottle? Surprisingly most people just walked right by the bottle and didn’t think twice. That is, until one good person noticed the bottle laying directly in front of the bin, picked it up — and then out of nowhere, a flash mob forms around her, celebrating her small yet significant act of kindness.

I love how triumphant this moment is. Even the smallest acts can have a huge impact on the planet!
