We all need good advice every now and then. Many of us turn to our grandparents for comfort when we weather one of life’s storms. In this example, which went viral on the internet, a grandmother offers her granddaughter a simple piece of wisdom. Although the author of this piece seems unknown, her wisdom words have a universal truth that anyone can appreciate.
At the beginning of the story, a young woman visits her grandmother. She is nervous about her life and needs help. Her grandmother replied with a carrot, an egg and coffee.
“A young woman went to her grandmother and told her about her life and how difficult things were for her. She didn’t know how to do it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and fighting. It seems like a problem was solved, a new problem arose.
Her grandmother brought her into the kitchen. I filled three pots with water and put them on high heat. Soon the pots came to a boil. I put carrots on the first, eggs on the second, and ground coffee beans on the last. I let them sit and cook without a word. “”
The burners went out in about twenty minutes. I took out the carrots and put them in a bowl. Then I took out the eggs and put them in a bowl. Then I took out the coffee and put it in a bowl. She turned to her granddaughter and asked: Tell me what do you see? She replied: carrots, eggs, coffee.
“I approached her and asked her to feel the carrots. She did this, indicating that it was soft. Then I asked her to take an egg and break it. After removing the shell, she noticed a hard-boiled egg. Finally the daughter asked her with a smile as she tried the aromatic coffee. Then she asked the granddaughter, “What does that mean that this is your grandmother?” Her grandmother explained that each of these things had the same adversities – boiling water – but they reacted differently. Carrots became strong, hard and relentless. After exposure to the boiling water, however, I became scared. The egg was crispy. Its thin outer shell protects the liquid inside. After being in boiling water sat, the interior froze. ”
Ea, Ea, Ea. After they were in boiling water, they changed the water. “Who are you?” Asked her granddaughter. How do you feel when adversity is knocking on your door? Are you a carrot or an egg or a coffee bean?
Think about it: who am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity? Do I wither, soften and lose my strength? ”
Am I the egg that starts with a flexible heart but changes with the heat? My soul was fleeting, but have I become firm and determined after death, separation, financial hardship, or other experiences? My scrub looks the same, but inside I feel bitter and difficult with a hard mind and heart. certainly? “”
“Or am I like a coffee bean? Beans actually switch hot water, which are the same conditions that cause pain. When water is heated, it releases the smell and taste of your life. When you are like a bean when things are okay Worst of all, the situation around you is getting better and changing. The hours are dark and the experiences are the greatest.
This story made me think about who I am when faced with a challenge. Which one are you? Carrots, Eggs or Coffee?
