A Chinese dog became a hero after doing something remarkable.
The dog dug up a newborn that is believed to have been buried alive in the trunk of a bush. The Chinese press writes that the dog probably smelled the child, so he dug a hole to find him. The baby was only one month old and was taken immediately to the local clinic, and is currently recovering. According to the Daily Mail, the incident took place on May 6 in Chongqing, a town in southwest China.
The owner of the hero dog’s name is Yang Jiali and she was looking for her pet when she finally saw it in a bush in Jiangjin, a suburban neighborhood. Yang said the quadruped was desperately trying to dig a hole in the ground, only then did she see the child lying crying in the pit, wrapped in a piece of cloth. According to the woman, the baby started crying when she was released by the dog.
According to the doctor who treated this case, the baby had a very low body temperature and a poor heart rate: “His mouth was full of mud.” He added that the child’s life is not in danger, but that he needs time to fully recover.
Police and authorities believe the baby was buried because the family thought he was dead.
