A bride expresses outrage when a wedding guest fills up seven containers with food from the buffet.

Wedding planning can be an expensive affair, with the national average cost of a wedding in 2021 being around $28,000, as per the Knot Real Weddings Study. One of the most significant expenses for couples is the food, as they want their guests to have a great dining experience on their special day.

Imagine spending so much money and time picking the perfect cuisine for your wedding, only to have a guest pack up leftovers in Tupperware. This is precisely what happened to a bride who shared her story on Reddit. She had a small wedding ceremony of 25 people, which included her dad’s best friend. The friend asked if he could bring his daughter and son-in-law a few days before the wedding, and the bride agreed.

However, the daughter arrived without her husband, but still managed to pack ten Tupperware containers. She filled seven of those containers with food, and the remaining three were for packing cookies from the cookie table. She also took a few bottles of beer and centerpieces home with her. The bride was understandably upset by this behavior.

To make matters worse, she gifted the couple $5. That’s right—a $5 bill! The bride also explains that this woman is far from poor, presumably because of all the freeloading she does.

People who read her story couldn’t believe how someone could do this, and agreed with how unacceptable it was.

“Any guest who shows up at a function where food is being served (other than a potluck) with any kind of container/bag should be instantly asked/told/forced to leave. No exceptions,” someone said.

“Flabbergasted!!!! I think I would have to find this woman and share some words. People like this must be stopped,” someone else commented.

Many people were confused at why no one said anything to this woman: “That’s horrible behavior. But how could none of the other close friends and family not have taken issue with that type of freeloading to come and tell you? I do t think anyone else there gets any awards for good behavior or watching your back either,” someone wrote.

Many others empathized with her, sharing similar stories of guests doing the same thing as their wedding.

Have you ever heard of someone bringing Tupperware to a wedding? What would you do if you saw someone bagging up food at an event like this?
