93-year-old Tom Sitter won the Moths Open Storytelling competition and made the audience laugh as he shared the Valentine’s Day story that was spread in his class at a young age.
The memory of the girls he carefully selected to celebrate his fifth Valentine’s Day in 1933 was strong enough that 84 years later he still knew their names. A veteran World War II warrior and citizen of Wisconsin, his story caught the attention and competition of the audience.
