4 abused siblings were about to be separated – the judge’s tears flow when she gives them the verdict

Instead of being loved and protected by those who gave them life, four brothers in Kansas had a very difficult time from the beginning. Alisia, Bradley, Cody and Emma were abused as children and needed to be adopted.

However, the adoption processes in which several brothers are involved usually end with their separation, and the chances of this happening were particularly high in the case of the four.

They knew no one else and only had each other. If they had been separated, it would have left them with broken hearts.

The children were 17, 16, 15, and 11 years old at the time of adoption and needed a new home, but they did not think they would get together under the same roof. One possible scenario was for sisters Alisia and Emma to go to an adoptive family together, while brothers Bradley and Cody were sent elsewhere.

Fortunately, two people with huge hearts decided to intervene in time. Eric and Phyllis Watson of Gardner, Kansas, were proud of their licenses to become adoptive parents. They also met all the requirements to be able to adopt.

When the Adoption Center contacted the couple to present this case, Eric and Phyllis first met the four brothers who had only one wish: to stay together.

“We were thinking of adopting a child at some point. Maybe two? We didn’t think of four at once, “Eric recalls.

“The turning point for me was when I found out they were going to be separated and I didn’t want to see that.”

“And when he woke up, he said, ‘We’re going to take all the kids,’” Phyllis said. “Eric weighed things well and could not have imagined that the brothers would be separated.”

Both Eric and Phyllis have full-time jobs, so they weren’t sure they could take care of four children at once. However, after a good rest, the two decided that the four could not be separated and decided to meet them. They all got along great!

The adoption was to become official in court, and the recently married Watson family was more than happy to attend.

“Do you think you have established a mother-child relationship? Do you have the financial capacity to provide them with adequate housing? Do you understand that there is no place to give back? ”, The judge wanted to know from the new adoptive parents. All questions were answered “YES”.

Phyllis and Eric admitted that they were a little scared when they decided to adopt all four, but they quickly got used to the idea. The family built a bigger house for all the children and also bought a more spacious car in which they could all travel.

Susan Bustamente, the children’s natural grandmother, said that Alisia, Bradley, Cody, and Emma have always been well-bred children, and especially praised Alisia for being such a good sister to her other siblings.

“She’s been like a mother to them since she was three,” their grandmother confessed. “They had a hard life, but they are strong,” she added.

The four brothers were the victims of a couple accused of substance abuse and were neglected by their biological parents – but from now on they will have a bright future.

This case was very special for Judge Kathleen Sloan, who was moved to tears by this touching adoption.

“Welcome to the best hearing I will have in this courtroom,” the judge said at the beginning of the adoption hearing. “The best hearing a judge can have in this court, the best hearing a judge can have in the entire state of Kansas, the best hearing a judge can have in the entire United States.”

“There is nothing more beautiful than to adopt; largely because you all came happy and I will make sure you leave even happier. ”

Excited and particularly inspired by this touching gesture, the judge asked the entire courtroom to give the recently extended Watson family a standing ovation.

“It’s not exactly what I originally planned, but it’s much better,” Phyllis concluded. “I love them as if they were mine.”
