It all started becoming worse for the dogs, when some company that makes contracts made some purchase of 12 dogs from the defense department. Formerly these dogs were veterans who had even gone abroad to serve our nation, and achieved saving lives of thousands of soldiers.
Greg Meredith of the contract company was the one supposed to be in charge of the dogs for a couple of weeks, but it has passed one and a half years yet he is the one still in charge of them. He has put tireless efforts to assist in the healing of the sensitive wounds of the soldier dogs. He had the work of rehabilitating the dogs and teaching them to be therapy dogs, but unfortunately that never happened.
Upon being brought at Meredith’s door in a horrible health condition, good Samaritans at the clinic saw to it that they received the care that they are worth. Of the 12 dogs, some had signs of PTSD, while others had shrapnel buried in their bodies. All this one and a half years Meredith waited for the promised funds, meanwhile catering for them from his pocket.
Finally he received a notice that the dogs were timeworn and that the way forward was to dispose them. All this came after making an enormous effort to care for the dogs using money from his own pocket. Luckily a campaign known as Go Fund Me was began to collect money for saving the dogs. For Meredith, all the effort was in vain, although the dogs remained grateful. It is the moment to save Meredith too!
Currently, The United States War Dog Association has teamed up with, Mission K-9 Rescue, and they have come up with a new mission which is to search for the veteran Army dogs trainers. Of the 12 dogs, 8 have been reunited with their former masters, and if the remaining masters can’t be located, the four dogs who have passed a hard life will surely find a place to be.
